Welcome to the Office of the Inspector General of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County (OIG). Please be aware that due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the OIG will not be accepting in-person meetings with the public at this time. Mission Statement

The mission of the OIG is to detect, deter and prevent corruption, fraud, waste, mismanagement, and misconduct in the operation of The Circuit Court of Cook County (Clerks Office) with integrity, independence, professionalism. The OIG conducts investigations and issues findings and recommendations to the department of Labor relations and Human Resources. The OIG also investigates potential criminal violations involving the conduct of Clerk’s Office employees acting in their official capacities and refers such matters for prosecution. The OIG is a fact-finding office, and cannot dictate a legal outcome


File a Complaint with the Inspector General

You may file a complaint by completing the complaint form and submitting the form to our secure website. You may also download the form, complete and mail or hand-deliver to our offices. You may also call our HOTLINE number at 312.603.3424.

If you suspect fraud, waste or abuse, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Inspector General.

Any individual who contacts the OIG can report information openly and confidentially; the identity of those who file complaints with the OIG will be kept confidential to the extent possible under the law. The OIG cannot accept complaints that are filed anonymously.

When filing a complaint, please provide as much information about the alleged incident as possible. The OIG does not enforce laws or city ordinances related to criminal activity. Criminal activity should be reported to the Chicago Police Department at 9-1-1.
