Welcome to the Office of the Inspector General of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County. We have created the Office of the Inspector General's Website to enable the employees of the Clerk's Office and the Cook County constituents to inform us of infractions and misconduct via a confidential and secure medium.

Those wishing to file complaints and/or report abuse may do so using any of the methods listed below.

File a Complaint with the Inspector General

You may file a complaint by completing the complaint form and submitting the form to our secure website. You may also download the form, complete and mail or hand-deliver to our offices. Alternatively, you may fax your completed complaint form to a secure fax machine in the OIG office at 312-603-9676. You may call our HOTLINE number at 312.603.3424.

If you suspect fraud, waste or abuse, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Inspector General.

Any individual who contacts the OIG can report information openly and confidentially; the identity of those who file complaints with the OIG will be kept confidential to the extent possible under the law. The OIG cannot accept complaints that are filed anonymously.

When filing a complaint, please provide as much information about the alleged incident as possible: who, what, when, where and how. The OIG does not enforce laws or city ordinances related to criminal activity. Criminal activity should be reported to the Chicago Police Department at 9-1-1.

The mission of the Office of the Inspector General is to promote efficiency, effectiveness and ethical behavior and to detect and prevent fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement in the operations of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
